Naples FL Window Care
How to Prepare Your Home for a Window Cleaning Visit
A few minutes of prep makes a big difference in results β and prevents the things that slow crews down or damage your belongings.
Professional window cleaning is mostly hands-off for you β but a few simple steps before the crew arrives can meaningfully improve the results and protect your home. This is especially true for interior cleaning, where furniture, decor, and pets all factor in.
Before the Crew Arrives β Interior Prep
Clear the window sills and ledges
Remove plants, decorative items, candles, and anything else sitting on windowsills. Technicians need unobstructed access to reach the full glass surface and wipe the sill. Items left in place slow the job and risk being knocked over.
Pull back curtains and blinds
Fabric treatments that brush against wet glass pick up cleaning solution and can stain. Tie back or clip curtains well away from the glass. Raise or fully retract blinds β half-open blinds are the biggest source of delays on interior jobs.
Move furniture away from windows
A 2β3 foot clearance in front of each window gives technicians room to work without climbing over sofas or dragging equipment. This is especially important for sliding glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows common in Naples homes.
Secure or remove pets
Technicians move quickly through the home and doors may be briefly left open. Even a well-behaved pet can get underfoot or escape through an open door. Crating or keeping pets in a closed room during the visit is the safest approach for everyone.
Point out any damaged glass or screens
If you have a cracked pane, a torn screen, or a broken latch, let the crew know before they start. Damaged glass can shatter under cleaning pressure. A quick walkthrough note protects both your property and the technicians.
Exterior Prep
- Turn off irrigation the night before and morning of β sprinklers running during or after cleaning deposit mineral spots immediately on fresh glass
- Clear the perimeter β move potted plants, outdoor furniture, and dΓ©cor away from the foundation so crews can access all ground-floor windows
- Unlock gates and side access β if the crew needs to reach a side yard or back patio, unlocked gates save significant time
- Let the crew know about pool cages β if you want the cage panels cleaned, flag it at booking so the right equipment comes along
You Don’t Need to Be Home
For exterior-only cleaning, you don’t need to be present. Just make sure gate access and perimeter clearance are handled. For interior cleaning, someone over 18 should be home or you can provide entry instructions in advance. We’ll send a completion notification when the job is done.
